New National Standard: Pet Food Labeling Upgraded

The new national standard for pet food labeling took effect on July 1, requiring clear labeling of main ingredient ratios, ingredient sourcing and functional claims. The update is expected to raise transparency across the entire industry.

Key Changes at a Glance

Manufacturers must now disclose the exact percentage of main animal-derived ingredients, avoid ambiguous wording such as "meat and meat products", and support all functional claims with documented evidence. Packaging for export markets must additionally match the regulatory requirements of the destination country.

What It Means for Partners

Compliant labeling is becoming a competitive advantage rather than a formality. All Runchong supply-chain partners have completed label updates, and bilingual artwork support is available for wholesale clients.
